Everything you need to get Scrivo running and approving updates.
Getting started
1. Install the Chrome extension
Install Scrivo from the Chrome Web Store. After installing, you will see the Scrivo icon in your browser toolbar. Click it and sign in with your Scrivo account (or create one).
2. Connect your call recorder
From the extension, connect one of the supported call recorders: Gong, Fathom, Fireflies, or Granola. Scrivo reads your call transcripts — it does not record calls itself. You authorize access with your existing recorder login.
3. Connect your CRM
Connect Salesforce or HubSpot. Scrivo reads the fields on the record you have open and writes only the values you approve. CRM writes go through your own session credentials.
4. Select your CRM fields
Choose which fields you want Scrivo to suggest updates for. You can select standard fields (Next Steps, MEDDIC fields, Close Date, etc.) or custom fields specific to your org. You can change your selection at any time.
5. Use Scrivo on a record
Open an opportunity or deal in your CRM. If Scrivo finds a recent call transcript or email thread for that account, it will analyze the content and generate field suggestions. Review each suggestion, then approve the ones you want written. Reload the record page to see the updated values.
Connecting email (optional)
You can optionally connect Gmail or Outlook to give Scrivo additional context. Email access is read-only — Scrivo cannot send, delete, or modify your emails. Scrivo reads recent threads related to the account you are viewing, and uses them alongside call transcripts to generate more complete suggestions.
You can disconnect email at any time from the extension. Scrivo works from calls alone if you prefer not to connect email.
Field hints
Field hints let you tell Scrivo how your team uses a specific CRM field. For example, you might add a hint like: "Next Steps should always be a specific, dated action item — not a summary of the call."
Hints are shared across your team. Once one person configures them, every rep on the team sees better suggestions for those fields. You can add or edit hints from the extension at any time.
Understanding suggestions
How suggestions are generated
Scrivo reads the call transcript and (if connected) the email thread for the account you are viewing. It sends this content to its AI engine along with the CRM fields you selected and any field hints your team configured. The AI produces a suggested value for each field, prioritizing the most recent and specific information available.
Reviewing and approving
Each suggestion shows the proposed value and indicates whether it came from a call, an email, or both. You can:
- Approve — writes the value to your CRM.
- Edit — modify the value before approving.
- Skip — dismiss the suggestion without writing anything.
Your approve/skip/edit decisions help Scrivo learn what your team considers a good suggestion.
Teams
If you are part of a team, your team shares field hints and field selection defaults. Each rep's suggestion approvals are individual — approving a suggestion on your record does not affect anyone else's CRM.
Team admins can manage members and shared settings from the Scrivo dashboard.
Supported integrations

- HubSpot — works on Deal records. Reads and writes fields you select.

Privacy and security
Scrivo is built with an approval-first design — it never writes to your CRM without you clicking approve. Email access is always read-only. Transcript and email content are processed to generate suggestions and are not stored after analysis. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. For full details, see our Security and Privacy pages.
Troubleshooting
No suggestions appearing
- Make sure you have a call transcript available for the account. Scrivo reads from your connected call recorder — check that the recorder integration is active.
- Confirm you are on an Opportunity (Salesforce) or Deal (HubSpot) record page.
- Make sure you have selected at least one CRM field for Scrivo to suggest updates for.
Updated values not showing in CRM
After approving suggestions, reload the CRM record page. Some CRM interfaces cache field values and require a page refresh to show the latest data.
Email context not included
Check that Gmail or Outlook is connected in the extension. Scrivo looks for email threads involving contacts associated with the account you are viewing. If there are no matching threads, email context will not appear.
Extension not loading
- Make sure you are using Google Chrome (Scrivo is a Chrome extension).
- Check that the extension is enabled in
chrome://extensions. - Try reloading the page or restarting Chrome.
OAuth connection failed
If connecting a service fails, try disconnecting and reconnecting from the extension. Make sure pop-ups are not blocked for the OAuth window. If the issue persists, email us.
